Gemstones associated with the Signs of the Zodiac.
It is not widely known that each sign has several possible associated gemstones. As well as being associated with zodiac signs, stones may be related to months of the year.
Pisces: February 20- March 20
Crystal, chrysolite and bloodstone are connected with Pisces. The ruling planet for Pisces is Neptune.

Crystal, quartz crystal or rock crystal, is probably the most powerful stone known to mankind. Used in modern technology and by many as an aid to meditation, crystal releases the owner’s higher consciousness and can accelerate spiritual growth, spiritual development, and healing.
Tradition suggests that a cup made of quartz crystal will turn cloudy if poison is added to the liquid to be drunk and so in ancient times many goblets were made of crystal. The ancients used it to amplify the rays of the sun and bring heat to the body, as well as in a powdered form for many types of ailment.
Probably the most powerful general healer, the quartz crystal attract energy and light and is often employed as and aid in psychic development, facilitating meditation, dispelling negativity and inspiring communication with the higher self. Quartz crystal is often used as a charging crystal for other stones and is widely used in the East for magical purposes in the form of charms and talismans. Crystal is said to promote a deep sleep if worn at night and protect against evil.

Chrysolite
Chrysolite is most commonly an olive green color but can also be brown or red. It gets it s name from the Greek chiastos, which means “marked with an x”. For this reason, it is sometimes called “the cross stone”, and was also known as “the golden stone” to the ancients.
It is said to exert its full power, chrysolite should be set in gold. Known to be very useful in cases of viral illnesses, it also used in cases of toxemia. In ancient times, chrysolite was thought to be cure for insomnia and protect against nightmares when worn at night, and when worn during the day, to dispel melancholy and improve creativity. In medieval times, it was believed to prevent madness.
Bloodstone
The bloodstone belongs to those Rams born during the month of March. Its flecks of red jasper fit in with the Mars and fire themes. Jasper is especially associated with stomach problems and is said to help with digestion if worn against the stomach area. Early Christians, who dedicated a gemstone to each apostle, dedicated jasper to St. Peter. It is said that, to early Christians, bloodstone had and association with the blood shed by Christ at the Crucifixion. This is probably how it got its name. The story goes that on the hill of Calvary, some of blood from the crucified Christ fell upon the green jasper that lay beneath t cross and speckled it with red.
Ancient civilizations thought it had the power to cause tempests and that is was a protection against drowning. The reasoning behind this is lost in antiquity. Bloodstone was also used in seals, cameos and signets and many of the seals of the ancient Babylonians were cut in bloodstone.
Lucky and unlucky stones.
Many stones are considered to be lucky and since early times have been used as means of protection. For those people interested in astrology, having considered the stones mentioned for their signs, it is worth pointing out that some sources believe that some stones are to be avoided at all costs.
